Small Batch Baking

We like simple things. We don't have a large menu. We prefer to do just a few things and do them well. Everything we do is made by hand. Made from scratch. Never from a box. Never any shortcuts.

Ordering.

Everything is made to order, from scratch, for you or your event, so we'll need some advance notice. A week is preferred, but typically we can accomodate orders with 2 to 3 days notice. Please email us and we'll figure something out.

Payment & Shipping

Visa/MC or Amex accepted at time of order or cash/check at time of delivery or pick-up.

We can ship our cookies and candy (domestically, sorry Canada). Our cupcakes? Not so much.

Delivery

We will deliver sweets right to your door to ensure that your order arrives in perfect condition. Please let us know if you'd like to include a personal note with your order.

Delivery is free of charge for Millis, Medfield, Sherborn, Dover, Westwood, and Walpole.

The delivery charge is $12 for the Greater Boston Area (inside route 128). For delivery to other areas, contact us for a price quote.

FAQs.

Where are you located?

We don't have a physical retail location. We're located in a secret bakery bunker outside Boston. There's a chocolate moat and it's zombie proof, as far as we know.

Do you deliver?

Yes, as much as we love our postman (hi, Clarke!) our packages are prone to bumps and bruises, so we like to deliver whenever possible to ensure our treats arrive in tip top shape. See the ordering section for delivery area and charges.

Do you ship?

We ship our cookies and candy within the domestic US. Due to obvious logistics involving buttercream icing we can't ship our cupcakes, sorry.

Do you do custom orders?

Our philosophy is to stick to what we know and keep practicing it until we master it. So, not really, no, but if you insist we can sometimes be convinced to try a little twist on our usual menu. Doesn't hurt to ask, right?

Do you do weddings?

No, not unless it's a small, intimate affair. Our small batch baking philosophy and weddings don't really mix. We do however love rehearsal dinners.

Do you make fat free desserts?

Uh, no. Definitely not. A little indulgence once in awhile can't hurt. Everything in moderation.

About Us.

This whole thing can be blamed on two things: a broken hand and trying to learn the guitar. Mike is an active guy and if he can't run, workout or generall behave like a thirteen year old on a regular basis he gets antsy. When he broke his hand, he put that energy into baking. We already had a cook in the house, but no one really made dessert. The guitar part is about learning to love practice. Doing the same thing over and over is a key part of how we like to do things.

Our Process

We like baking because it's a science. It's not the willy nilly of cooking. A dash here, a tad there. It's precise, it requiers measureing. You need to practice. One small misstep. One variance. And things can turn out very differently. You need to do it again. And again. You have to love that journey and love practice.

Our Approach

You know those restuarants where the menu is the size of a small phonebook? We don't trust those places. It's too easy to make bad food. That's not us. We keep it simple. Small batch baking using the best and freshest ingredients we can find. That's it.
